Lettering is the best choice for larger letters (1" to 12"). Twill lettering is more expensive than "heat seal" lettering. Twill is a fabric sewn to the garment and "heat seal" as the name implies, is a vinyl or synthetic material which is heat applied to the garment. Each has its own look and is available in one, two and more color designs. Both can be ordered in custom fonts and can be "mixed" with different techniques. Twill is a more expensive labor intensive process and heat seal is better for budget minded individuals or groups. Each process is very durable and is very long lasting. Special "value added" processes can be specified. An example of this would be to take twill and mix with embroidery or screenprinting. This process can provide a greater value and flexibility as well as a very customized look. "Heat seal" can be mixed with screenprinting to get a custom look at a reduced rate. This lettering style is called tackle twill. The letters can be "cut" to just about any type style. The letters are then zig-zag stitched to the fabric (see inset). The example shows a two color letters (gold twill over white twill).

Here is an example of one color twill. This is a custom cut lettering style. This is sewn on the front of a button front jersey. As you can see, the lettering has to match at the button "seam".

Here is a sample of gold metallic twill lettering. Another choice is to zig-zag stitch or column stitch (tight zig-zag) the letters to the garment using a different color thread. This gives a two tone effect while using only one color twill.

We also can sew numbers on garments. Here is an example of an 8" two color number on the back of a jersey. For those who want something different, we can also use three different twill. Although this looks great, it can give the garment extra weight.

Here is another example of a custom cut two color twill "gators" on the front of a jersey. In this example the customer requested the number to be reverse color from the name. This gives a different look and creates something unusual for your team. Several of our corporate accounts also use this for their company name

For those who want lettering for less money, we offer a "heat seal" vinyl letttering. The above example is one color basic block lettering. We also offer two color or custom cut styles as well. Another option is screenprinted heat applied letters and numbers. Both offer a "screened" look at an affordable price. (the blue lines through the letters is a tape).

Here is a finished jersey using "heat seal" lettering. As you can see it has a sheen like athletic screen printing and is very durable. This is a good choice for leagues or individuals who want the look of a custom jersey at a very competitive price.
